Eggless Chocolate Mousse

I am back after Summer Holidays!!!!!

I was on my summer vacation for the last couple of months. I had a very good time in India attending lot of weddings. After coming back my dear friend Bharathy kept on asking why I don’t post something on the blog…and my answer was I will…it took one month for me to get over my holiday hangover!!! This being my first post in almost 3 months, I thought something sweet was appropriate. So here is the recipe for Eggless Chocolate Mousse!
Eggless Chocolate Mousse

Eggless Chocolate Mousse
Recipe source: Nita Metha's Desserts and Puddings

  • Mix cocoa and corn flour in 1/2 cup milk.
  • Boil the rest of milk with sugar.
  • Add dissolved cocoa and corn flour to the milk, stirring continuously.
  • Cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes. Keep aside.
  • Put 4 tbsp water in a small pan. Sprinkle gelatin on it. Heat on low flame to dissolve it. Do not boil.

  • Beat the thick chocolate custard. Add cream and essence and mix gently.
  • Pour in six mousse cups. Chill in the freezer till set properly.

  5. Hi

I would love to try this eggless mousse. But I seriously get confused between the liquid and dry ingredients measurements used in the recipes. Please guide me on the exact measuring to be followed in your recipes. That would be a great help to me. Thanks, Shilpa

    1. Hi Shilpa,
Don't know why you are confused with the measurements when all the measurements are clearly mentioned...

    2. Hi

Please guide me as to how many ml does 1 cup holds for dry and liquid ingredents used in your recipes? Some bloggers use 240 ml as one cup and others take 200 l as one cup equivalent.

    3. That difference is because of Metric and US standard measurements... In India we use metric and 1 cup= 200ml and US 1cup=240ml... what ever measurement you follow please stick either to metric or to US in the same recipe... don't mix up both...

  6. Thanks dear for the reply. I guess the measurement in ml of one cup is same for both the dry and liquid ingredients?

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog:) Your feedback is feel free to post your comments and questions. Hope to see you soon!
